How it works

How it works

Everything a learner goes through, in order and in plain words.

Placement test and your official level

After you create an account, you book a placement appointment from the times the school has opened. The test is a live conversation with a placement tester, inside the site.

After the test, the tester assigns your official level. The date, the tester and the level are saved in your record. Administration can also assign a level directly when a test is not needed.

Your official level unlocks the groups published for that level, and only those.

Choosing a group

You see every group of your level that is open for enrolment and still has a free seat. For each one you can compare the schedule, the start and expected end dates, the seats taken, the instructors and the price.

When you enrol, your seat is reserved. A group that is full stops accepting enrolments. Administration can also place or transfer a student when needed.

Paying in full or in instalments

A course can be paid in full or, where the group offers it, in instalments. Each payment is a bill with an amount and a due date, visible in your account from the start.

Payments are recorded by the school's administration; the payment instructions are shown in your account. The platform does not take card payments.

If a required bill is due and still unpaid, joining live sessions pauses until it is paid. You can still sign in, see your course, your tasks and exactly what has to be paid. Administration can allow access in special cases.

The live classroom

Sessions happen in a live classroom inside the site, in your browser. Before entering you check your camera and microphone.

In the room you can use your camera and microphone, see screen sharing, and write in the classroom chat. The classroom chat is temporary: it is not saved after the session.

The room opens shortly before the session starts. The platform does not record live sessions.

Tasks and instructor feedback

Instructors set tasks for the group. You see each task with its status, submit your work, and the instructor reviews it.

Feedback on a task stays attached to that task. Instructors can also write general feedback on your progress, and that history stays with you even if you change groups.

Progress: the roadmap, not the calendar

Each level has an academic roadmap: the list of what the group has to complete. Your progress percentage is calculated from the roadmap items that are completed.

Time passing or a session being held does not move the percentage by itself. One item can take several sessions, and one session can complete several items.

Attendance

For each session the instructor records who was present, late, absent or excused. Attendance is its own record: it is separate from whether the session took place and from the roadmap.

You can see your attendance history in your account.

Completing a level and moving up

A level is completed when its roadmap is finished, the final assessment is done and administration confirms the completion. It is then recorded in your course history.

Completing a level makes you eligible for groups of the next level. You are not moved automatically: you choose your next group and enrol in it.

Messages and the group chat

The message centre is separate from the classroom. Once you are enrolled you can message your instructors directly, and each group has its own group chat.

Unlike the classroom chat, these messages are saved, so the conversation is still there the next day.
